The Kentucky Educational Development Corporation (KEDC) was awarded a $2.5 million Project Grant from the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Elementary and Secondary Education to support the KEDC PROJECT ACHIEVE ADVOCATING FOR CIVICS AND HISTORY ENGAGEMENT & INSTRUCTION THROUGH VALUING EDUCATORS program.
Under this two-year award funded through the American History and Civics Education federal grant program (CFDA #84.422), KEDC will establish Presidential Academies for the Teaching of America to provide professional development opportunities for educators to strengthen civics and history instruction. The program aims to advocate for civics and history engagement in K-12 classrooms through valuing educators and supporting improved teaching practices. Project activities will be carried out in Ashland, Kentucky through October 2023.
