The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), under the Medical Library Assistance (CFDA 93.879) federal grant program, awarded Nestotus LLC a $293,978 Project Grant (R43LM014476) to develop a functional prototype of the HERO (Health/Care Environment for Research or Organizations) platform. The HERO platform will be a secure, HIPAA-compliant software solution that enables the development, hosting, and maintenance of digital health interventions and programs. This one-year project will leverage human-centered design principles and input from 600 key stakeholders to identify key features and functions, and create a functional software prototype. The HERO platform aims to address challenges in the dissemination and long-term sustainability of digital health interventions, which often require significant resources to develop. By providing a flexible, customizable platform, this project seeks to minimize the burden and costs associated with creating tailored digital health solutions for various populations and health outcomes.
