The National Cancer Institute (NCI) awarded Oncotab, Inc. a $400,000 Project Grant (CFDA 93.395 - Cancer Treatment Research) to develop an optimized targeted radiotherapy for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). The goal is to overcome the challenges of delivering effective treatments to PDAC tumors, which have a very low 5-year survival rate of less than 9%. The project will involve a structured design of experiments to evaluate the use of a humanized tumor-associated MUC1 (TMUC1) antibody and a tandem single-chain variable fragment (scFv) as targeting agents, labeled with alpha and beta particle-emitting radioisotopes. The objective is to identify the optimal targeting agent and radioisotope combination to enable effective tumor penetration and radiation delivery to PDAC cells, while minimizing impact on normal cells. The project will be conducted from June 2025 to May 2026.
