The National Cancer Institute (NCI) awarded a $328,822 Project Grant (CFDA 93.393 - Cancer Cause and Prevention Research) to Implenomics LLCs, a minority and woman-owned small business, to develop and evaluate an innovative mHealth platform called the Integrated Cancer Awareness Network (ICAN). The ICAN platform will use mobile apps and a provider dashboard to educate both healthcare providers and community members in India on cancer risk factors, symptoms, and the importance of early cancer screening for colorectal, breast, and cervical cancers. The project aims to increase cancer screening uptake in India through this multicomponent mHealth intervention, and will assess the platform's effectiveness, processes, and cost-effectiveness through pilot studies and a cluster randomized trial. Findings from this research will provide evidence to guide the scale-up of cancer screening programs in India and other resource-limited settings.
