The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) received a $422,419 Project Grant award from the National Institute on Aging (NIA) under the Aging Research federal grant program (CFDA 93.866) to conduct research investigating the molecular mechanisms underlying cellular rejuvenation through partial reprogramming. The project aims to map changes in the transcriptome, chromatin landscape, transcription factor binding, and epigenetic age across the OSKM-induced partial reprogramming process, with the goal of identifying gene-regulatory and chromatin networks that regulate the epigenetic aging process. This research is expected to provide critical insights into determinants of cellular rejuvenation that could inform future regenerative medicine applications. The project will be carried out at UCLA's facilities in Los Angeles over a 2-year period from December 2024 to November 2026.
