The John E. Fogarty International Center (FIC) awarded Partnership For Research And Action For Health a $192,292 Project Grant (CFDA 93.989 – International Research and Research Training) effective April 1, 2026, through March 31, 2029, to reduce HIV stigma and enhance prevention efforts among men who have sex with men (MSM) in the Georgian Republic. The grant supports the development and pilot testing of a digital health intervention comprised of culturally adapted evidence-based videos and educational content designed to increase HIV testing uptake and awareness of prevention services. Working in collaboration with local Georgian partners including Equality Movement, Tanadgoma, and the National AIDS Center, the project will conduct stakeholder interviews, adapt video content through iterative feedback with community advisory input, and implement the first online HIV testing trial in Georgia. The deliverables include: identification of barriers and facilitators to HIV testing among Georgian MSM through interviews with 40 stakeholders; culturally tailored video mock-ups and educational quizzes developed with local videographers; and a pilot randomized controlled trial (RCT) enrolling 300 MSM to evaluate testing uptake, linkage to prevention or care, and HIV knowledge outcomes. Participants will complete online assessments at baseline, 3, 6, 9, and 12 months and access intervention materials through an online portal where they can order HIV test kits. The intervention is grounded in Social Learning Theory and Social Cognitive Theory frameworks and informed by the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research (CFIR) and ADAPT-ITT model to ensure implementation fidelity and cultural relevance.Federal Grant Award Summary
