The National Institute on Aging (NIA) awarded a $867,107 Project Grant (CFDA 93.866 - Aging Research) to Brigham & Women's Hospital Inc. in Boston, MA to develop and validate an early detection approach for monitoring cognitive changes related to Alzheimer's disease. The project leverages web-based cognitive testing to capture high-resolution multi-day learning curves, which may detect subtle memory consolidation deficits indicative of preclinical Alzheimer's. The goal is to provide a scalable, sensitive method for screening and tracking cognitive decline across the early Alzheimer's disease continuum. As a sub-award under this grant, New York University will provide statistical design, analysis, and interpretation support. This work aims to facilitate earlier identification of at-risk individuals and enable more rapid assessment of treatment response in Alzheimer's disease prevention efforts.
