The Dartmouth Library will receive $356,865 from the National Endowment for the Humanities under the Promotion of the Humanities Division of Preservation and Access program (CFDA 45.149) for the New Hampshire Digital Newspaper Project. The two-year project grant will support the selection, digitization and provision of access to 100,000 pages of historical New Hampshire newspapers through the National Digital Newspaper Program. Led by Dartmouth Library in partnership with the New Hampshire State Library, New Hampshire Historical Society and University of New Hampshire Library, the project will ensure the long-term availability and wide public access to these important primary resources through the Library of Congress as the last state to be included in this national initiative. Completion is expected by August 2024.
