The Department of Transportation Federal Transit Administration awarded Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon (TriMet) $1,028,090 under the Federal Transit Formula Grants (CFDA 20.507) program on September 7, 2022 to develop transportation plans through July 30, 2025. TriMet will use the funding to engage communities and jurisdictional partners to create revised long-range comprehensive plans that improve quality, travel time, and service levels for the Portland region. Plans will guide TriMet investments toward climate action, equity, and restored ridership goals. Specifically, TriMet will develop system improvement and service enhancement plans informed by community input to respond to post-pandemic transportation trends. The plans will also identify priority routes for zero-emission buses and explore coordinated land use, urban forestry, and active transportation improvements. No subrecipient activities are included in the award.
