The Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority (SORTA) was awarded a $30.8 million Project Grant from the Federal Transit Administration's Federal Transit Formula Grants program (CFDA 20.507) on September 2, 2022 to support capital projects through March 30, 2028. The grant funds will support SORTA's replacement of aging buses and paratransit vehicles that have exceeded their 12-year useful life with new fixed route and paratransit buses. Funding will also support the implementation of SORTA's alternative fuel strategy and improvements to SORTA's asset management systems, including modifications to its Maximo system and new procurement and project tracking capabilities, to better integrate asset management across the organization. As the direct recipient, SORTA will deliver the funded bus replacements and system upgrades to benefit its transit customers across Hamilton, Warren and Clermont counties in Ohio.
