THIS APPLICATION IS TO REQUEST FFY21 SECTION 5311 RURAL AREA FORMULA PROGRAM/5311 APPALACHIAN FUNDS APPORTIONED TO THE EASTERN BAND OF CHEROKEE INDIANS (EBCI) IN THE AMOUNT OF $153893.PURPOSE: THE EASTERN BAND OF CHEROKEE INDIANS TRIBE WILL UTILIZE THIS AWARD FOR OPERATING ASSISTANCE AND TO MAINTAIN EXISTING TRANSIT SERVICES ON OR NEAR THE QUALLA BOUNDARY AND OTHER TRIBAL LANDS.ACTIVITIES TO BE PERFORMED: FUNDING WILL BE USED TO COVER ELIGIBLE OPERATING EXPENSES INCLUDING VEHICLE FUEL PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE AND ITEMS HAVING A USEFUL LIFE OF LESS THAN ONE YEAR. FUNDS WILL ALSO BE USED FOR STAFF TO RECEIVE TRAINING.EXPECTED OUTCOMES: FUNDING WILL PERMIT THE EBCI TRIBAL TRANSIT TO CONTINUE TO SAFE AND EFFECTIVE OPERATION OF TRANSIT SERVICES FOR THE QUALLA BOUNDARY AND OTHER TRIBAL LANDS AND NEARBY AREAS.INTENDED BENEFICIARIES: TRANSIT RIDERS IN THE QUALLA BOUNDARY AREA AND OTHER TRIBAL LANDS. SUBRECIPIENTS: NONE - EBCI DOES NOT HAVE SUBRECIPIENTS. EBCI WILL BE APPLYING FOR FFY 2021 - 5311 RURAL FORMULA FUNDING IN THE AMOUNT OF $69286 WITH A 20% LOCAL MATCH OF $17322 AND 5311 APPALACHIAN FUNDING IN THE AMOUNT OF $84607 WITH A 20% LOCAL MATCH OF $21152 FOR A TOTAL AWARD AMOUNT OF $192367 AND TO INCLUDE INDIRECT COST RATE.
