This Project Grant from the Department of Transportation's Federal Transit Administration awarded $847,190 to the Mass Transportation Authority (MTA) under the Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities program (CFDA 20.513). The award will support MTA's provision of transportation services from April 13, 2023 through March 31, 2027 to elderly, disabled, developmentally disabled, and ADA-certified passengers in Michigan. Specifically, MTA will use the funding to provide same-day non-emergency medical transportation and rides to wellness programs. Door-to-door assistance on buses will also be offered to these vulnerable populations where public transit is otherwise inaccessible. The Enhanced Mobility program aims to fill transportation gaps for seniors and people with disabilities.
