The High Desert Museum will use a $486,233 award from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) Museums for America program (CFDA 45.301) to create the Center for the High Desert Learning Hub. This project will establish six new spaces at the Museum to host educational programs and activities for visitors of all ages, including K-12 students, teachers, families, and community groups. The Museum will collaborate with partners and community members to develop guiding principles, select furnishings and equipment, and launch responsive and innovative programming that promotes learning, connection, and inspiration related to the High Desert region. The impact of the new Learning Hub will be evaluated through surveys, interviews, and input sessions, with feedback used to inform adjustments to the space and programming.
