The federal Project Grant award K08HL173639 from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) under the Cardiovascular Diseases Research program (CFDA 93.837) provides $167,588.00 to support the career development of Dr. Son Duong, a clinician-scientist at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (ISMMS), into an independent investigator focused on the translational application of artificial intelligence to cardiovascular imaging and patient risk prediction for those with tetralogy of Fallot and other congenital heart diseases. The award aims to develop and validate a prediction tool to estimate right ventricular volumes and ejection fraction from electrocardiogram and echocardiogram data, as well as incorporate multimodal clinical data into a risk stratification tool for this patient population. The results are expected to lay the foundation for future R01 studies to expand and translate these findings into clinical practice.
