The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) awarded a $149,779 Project Grant under the Promotion of the Humanities Office of Digital Humanities program (CFDA 45.169) to The Living New Deal Project. The grant funding will be used to enhance The Living New Deal's digital humanities contributions by: 1) auditing and upgrading their existing data on New Deal public works projects, 2) incorporating U.S. Census spatial and population data to expand the scope of their database, 3) piloting methods to locate additional regional demographic data that can be scaled nationally, and 4) developing data download functionality and a digital humanities section for their website. This project aims to strengthen The Living New Deal's ability to support research and public engagement around the socio-spatial impacts of New Deal programs. The grant period runs from February 1, 2025 to July 31, 2026.
