The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) awarded a $600,000 Project Grant under the Community Health Centers (CFDA 93.224) program to the Center for Pan Asian Community Services, Inc. (CPACS) to expand behavioral health services at the CPACS Cosmo Health Center (CCHC) in the Atlanta metropolitan area.
The funding will allow CCHC to increase staffing for mental health and substance use disorder services, and implement the direct provision of medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorder. As a result, CCHC aims to increase the number of patients receiving mental health services from 114 to 364, substance use disorder services from 66 to 266, and provide medication-assisted treatment to 250 patients by December 31, 2025. The grant will support CCHC's efforts to provide culturally and linguistically competent care to the diverse immigrant and refugee communities in the service area, many of whom have limited English proficiency and face barriers accessing affordable, appropriate healthcare.
