The County of Volusia received a $9,654,104 project grant award from the Federal Transit Administration's Federal Transit Formula Grants program (CFDA 20.507) on July 16, 2021 to support public transportation services and infrastructure through March 30, 2026. The grant provides $8,649,502 in federal funding and $1,004,602 in local matching funds for capital, planning and operating expenses across four projects serving the Palm Coast-Daytona Beach-Port Orange and Deltona urbanized areas. Project 1 will use $4,068,836 in federal funds and $867,593 in toll revenue credits and local match for preventive maintenance, equipment purchases and the engineering/construction of an expanded parking lot. Project 2 receives $1,092,001 in federal funding and $273,000 in toll credits for paratransit services. Project 3 is allocated $2,596,882 in federal funds and $613,288 in toll credits and local match for similar capital and operating activities in Deltona. The final $308,000 project applies $77,000 in toll credits toward paratransit. Additionally, a $583,783 grant under the 2021 program will replace shop lifts and bus canopies using $145,946 in toll credits as local match.
