The New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology (NMT) was awarded a $22 million project grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) under the State and Local Homeland Security National Training Program (SLHSNTP) to provide homeland security training services from September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2023.

As the sub-awardee, NMT will deliver homeland security training through FEMA's National Domestic Preparedness Consortium program, which provides funding for eligible recipients to support the Department of Homeland Security's mission of preparing state, local, tribal and territorial personnel to prevent and respond to threats from terrorism. Specifically, NMT will leverage the National Domestic Preparedness Consortium to conduct training that improves the ability of homeland security personnel to prevent, protect against, and respond to acts of terrorism.
