The City of Indianapolis was awarded a $1.7 million Project Grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency Headquarters Financial Assistance Awards to support the National Urban Search and Rescue (US&R) Response System from September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2024.
The grant funds management, training, exercise, procurement of vehicles and equipment, and storage and maintenance activities for 28 national task forces under the National Urban Search and Rescue program (CFDA #97.025). The program aims to ensure an adequate domestic response capability for searching collapsed structures for victims of natural or man-made disasters.
