The State of Florida Division of Emergency Management received a $328,119.54 Flood Mitigation Assistance (FMA) Project Grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (CFDA 97.029) on September 19, 2023. The FMA program provides federal funding to state, territorial, tribal, and local governments to reduce or eliminate the risk of repetitive flood damage through activities such as localized flood control projects, infrastructure hardening, hazard planning, property acquisitions and elevations, drainage improvements, and community outreach initiatives. As the designated state administrative agency, the Florida Division of Emergency Management will leverage this funding to deliver a range of flood mitigation services and support sub-awards to local governments, state agencies, nonprofits, and other partners for on-the-ground emergency management activities across Florida.
