The Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration (EDA) awarded $962,500 under the Economic Development Support for Planning Organizations federal grant program (CFDA 11.302) to the Eastern Plains Economic Development Corporation on July 1, 2022. The project grant supports the development and implementation of a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) for a five-county region in eastern Montana through March 31, 2025. As the designated planning organization for Carter, Dawson, Fallon, Prairie, and Wibaux counties, the Eastern Plains Economic Development Corporation will lead a collaborative, regional process to create an economic roadmap. The CEDS process brings together public and private sector stakeholders to diversify and strengthen the regional economy.
