The Inter-American Foundation (IAF) awarded a $337,650 Project Grant under its Assistance for Overseas Programs (CFDA 85.750) to the Instituto De Ecologia Y Desarrollo De Las Comunidades Andinas (IEDECA) on September 11, 2024. The grant supports efforts to expand economic opportunity and unlock resources for grassroots development in indigenous and small farmer communities on both sides of the Ecuador-Colombia border. Key activities include installing advanced irrigation systems, providing training in natural resource management, and supporting producers' transition to sustainable agriculture to increase income and improve food security. This grant is part of the IAF's broader efforts to address social inclusion of indigenous peoples, women, and youth in the region.
