- The Department of Energy's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy awarded a $1,700,000 Project Grant under the Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Information Dissemination, Outreach, Training and Technical Analysis/Assistance program (CFDA 81.117) to the General Services Administration Greater Southwest Finance Center. This grant will fund the installation of a 6MW/13.5MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at the Federal Research Center in Silver Spring, MD. The BESS will...
- The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) awarded a $101,304,290 Project Grant under the Grid Infrastructure Deployment and Resilience program (CFDA 81.254) to Generac Power Systems, Inc. to enhance energy resiliency for California water utilities. The project aims to bring clean energy resiliency to critical water infrastructure by transitioning from diesel generators to innovative microgrid projects consisting of battery energy storage systems (BESS) and distributed energy resources. Key...
- This federal Project Grant award from the U.S. Department of Energy's Grid Deployment Office under the CFDA Program 81.254 "Grid Infrastructure Deployment and Resilience" provides $21,839,531 to Highland Electric Fleets Inc. to deploy 44 vehicle-to-grid (V2G) chargers, 500 kWh of stationary storage, 800 kW of solar, and associated infrastructure across 14 sites. The project will also establish three solar plus storage supported systems and one storage-only supported system....
This $8,100,000 Department of Energy (DOE) Federal Energy Management Program (CFDA 81.117 Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Information Dissemination, Outreach, Training and Technical Analysis/Assistance) Project Grant will support the expansion of an existing solar photovoltaic (PV) project and the deployment of a 16-MW/60-MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) with microgrid controls and building automation controls upgrades at the U.S. Air Force Vandenberg Space Force Base in Lompoc, CA. The BESS will enable the efficient storage of electricity generated by the 28-MW solar PV system, allowing the discharge of power to the base when advantageous and providing resilience against grid disruption risks. This BESS-enabled strategy will increase the amount of PV energy production, reduce PPA curtailment and minimum take penalties, and decrease electricity purchases from the local utility grid, resulting in significant energy cost savings.
