The Town of Griswold in Jewett City, Connecticut received a $411,800 Project Grant award from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Utilities Service on May 27, 2021. The funding supports the Community Facilities Loans and Grants program and will allow the town to construct, enlarge, extend, or otherwise improve essential community facilities providing services to rural residents through May 27, 2023. Specifically, the grant will aid recovery from tornadoes and floods by financing repairs and upgrades to public infrastructure damaged by natural disasters under the Community Facility 2019 Disaster Grants funding stream. The Rural Utilities Service aims to finance essential community facilities in rural areas through this program.
