This $4,000,000 Project Grant awarded by the Department of Health and Human Services' Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) under the Congressional Directives program (CFDA 93.493) will fund the construction of the new Tukwila Health and Wellness Center (THWC) in Tukwila, Washington. The THWC will house a Healthpoint community health center that will provide expanded medical, dental, pharmacy, and behavioral health services to the diverse, low-income, and underserved population of the Tukwila area. The new facility will include 18 medical exam rooms and 10 dental operatories, improving visibility and accessibility compared to Healthpoint's current Tukwila clinic. In addition, the THWC will serve as a hub for partners to address the community's broader needs related to childcare, intergenerational connections, education, employment, and food security. Construction activities funded through this award may include foundations, framing, roofing, drywall, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing work, with an expected completion date of September 2027.
