The Research Foundation of the City University of New York (RFCUNY) received a $149,984 Project Grant award from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) under the Promotion of the Humanities Teaching and Learning Resources and Curriculum Development program (CFDA 45.162). The grant will fund a two-year initiative to expand curricular offerings in rhetoric-based writing for transfer students at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, a CUNY senior college, Hispanic-serving institution, and minority-serving institution. The project aims to develop an upper-division writing program based on rhetoric that includes curriculum design, faculty development, a case study on transfer students' writing abilities, and outcomes assessment. This initiative will help improve academic and career success for transfer students, addressing COVID-19 learning loss that has disproportionately affected minority students.
