This Project Grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) under the Promotion of the Humanities Teaching and Learning Resources and Curriculum Development program will support the development and launch of an interdepartmental Cultural Heritage Research, Stewardship, and Restitution Certificate at the University of California, Los Angeles Cotsen Institute of Archaeology. With $124,688 in funding over a one-year period from April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024, the Cotsen Institute of Archaeology and its Waystation Program will establish a certificate program for matriculated graduate students. Key deliverables include developing the certificate curriculum, designing and implementing three stakeholder workshops, launching the certificate program with its first student cohort, building community and stakeholder engagement, and promoting the new certificate. The NEH grant will enable the University of California, Los Angeles to enhance humanities education by creating this new interdisciplinary cultural heritage certificate program and resources.
