The International Organization for Migration (IOM) received a $3.5 million Project Grant award from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to deliver capacity building support to protect mobile and vulnerable populations from disasters and conflict in the Philippines. The award was made under USAID's Foreign Assistance for Programs Overseas (CFDA #98.001) federal grant program and runs from May 3, 2021 through August 2, 2023. Through this funding, IOM will provide capacity building assistance and support to help protect internally displaced persons, migrants, and other at-risk groups from the damaging effects of natural disasters and conflict situations in the Philippines. The USAID Foreign Assistance Program aims to advance long-term economic growth and foreign policy objectives through support for global health, economic development, agriculture and trade, and democracy and humanitarian efforts.
