Catholic Relief Services (CRS) received a $1 million project grant award from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) under the USAID Foreign Assistance for Programs Overseas program (CFDA #98.001) to implement the "Preparing for Enhanced Protection in Disasters (PREPD)" program in Sierra Leone. The 18-month project, running from October 1, 2021 through March 31, 2024, will support long-term disaster preparedness and protection efforts in Sierra Leone through capacity building, training, and technical assistance. As the recipient of USAID funding, CRS will leverage its experience and on-the-ground implementation network to strengthen local resilience and coordination for future natural disasters in Sierra Leone through the PREPD program.
