The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) awarded a $100,000 Project Grant under the USAID Foreign Assistance for Programs Overseas (CFDA 98.001) program to the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) to provide logistical support in response to Cyclone Gamane in Madagascar. The award, with a performance period from April 12, 2024 to July 11, 2024, will fund WFP's humanitarian efforts to deliver emergency food assistance, nutrition services, and logistics support to crisis-affected populations in the region. As a key partner of the U.S. government, WFP leverages its expertise in humanitarian response and food security programming to provide life-saving aid, improve nutrition, and build resilience among vulnerable communities impacted by natural disasters.
