The National Association of State Boating Law Administrators, Inc. (NASBLA) received a $100,000 Project Grant award from the U.S. Coast Guard under the Boating Safety Financial Assistance program (CFDA 97.012) to develop technical solutions and surveillance recommendations through the Injury Surveillance Workgroup process from July 1, 2021 to September 30, 2022. As the official recipient, NASBLA will leverage its expertise and convening power to support the recreational boating safety community's efforts to reduce accidents, injuries, and deaths on domestic waterways. Specifically, NASBLA will work with the multi-stakeholder Injury Surveillance Workgroup to analyze boating incident data, identify injury patterns, and develop technical and policy recommendations to inform the U.S. Coast Guard's recreational boating safety programs and initiatives.
