This National Science Foundation (NSF) Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE) Federal Grant Award (CFDA 47.070) provides $180,989 to the University of Wyoming to conduct research on the Complementary-Quantum Correlation (CQC) conjecture. The project aims to: (1) identify a sufficient condition to prove the validity of the CQC conjecture beyond known classes of quantum states, (2) extend the conjecture to cover more than two quantum measurement bases, (3) find a sufficient condition for this extended version, (4) explore the structure of states that respect the conjecture, and (5) identify new applications. The research will utilize existing results involving generalized entropic uncertainty relations and information exclusion relations with classical-quantum states, as well as experiments with random bipartite quantum states. This award reflects NSF's mission to support fundamental and applied research in computing, communications, and information science, with the goal of advancing scientific knowledge and technological innovation in areas such as quantum information processing. The project period runs from June 15, 2025 to May 31, 2027.
