The University of Utah received a $993,409 Project Grant award from the National Science Foundation's (NSF) Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE) Federal Grant Program (CFDA 47.070). The grant, awarded on December 1, 2024, with a completion date of November 30, 2026, will support the development of a regional data cyberinfrastructure serving academic institutions across Utah. This includes deploying a CEPH-based S3 object storage system at the University of Utah and an integrated offsite disaster recovery and archive storage infrastructure. The project will federate this regional system with national cyberinfrastructure resources, including the Open Science Data Federation (OSDF) Pelican Platform and the National Data Platform, to provide a holistic data management and sharing solution for the state's research community. The project will also offer training and outreach activities to support faculty and students in utilizing the data cyberinfrastructure and integrating it with national resources.
