This $998,557 five-year Project Grant award from the National Science Foundation's STEM Education program (CFDA 47.076) will support the "Pathways to Success" scholarship and student support program at Marion Technical College, a rural two-year community college. Over the course of the project, the grant will fund scholarships for 65 low-income, academically talented students pursuing associate degrees in STEM fields such as biological/physical sciences, information technology, and mathematical sciences. Recipients will receive comprehensive support services including dedicated advising, faculty mentoring, career exploration activities, and non-academic support to enhance retention, graduation, and transfer to four-year STEM programs or entry into the STEM workforce. The project aims to increase STEM degree completion, fall-to-fall retention, graduation, and transfer rates for the participating students, ultimately broadening the participation of rural, low-income individuals in the STEM workforce.
