This $159,102 Project Grant was awarded by the National Science Foundation's (NSF) Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE) program (CFDA 47.070) to the University of Maryland, College Park. The grant will fund the "COLLABORATIVE RESEARCH: FRAMEWORKS: GROWING OPEN ONDEMAND: LEVERAGING UNIFIED COMMUNITY KNOWLEDGE (GOODLUCK)" project, which aims to accelerate the adoption and utilization of the Open OnDemand platform - an NSF-funded open-source tool that enables remote web access to research computing services. The project will develop innovations in four key areas: (1) a catalog for creating, modifying, and sharing Open OnDemand applications; (2) educational resources focused on using the platform in classroom settings; (3) customization of client interfaces and integration of new technologies; and (4) community engagement to facilitate collaboration. These efforts will benefit researchers across disciplines, including biochemists, materials scientists, art designers, and aerospace engineers, by providing tailored tools, documentation, and training to more easily access and leverage Open OnDemand for their computational research needs. The award period is from Sep 1, 2024 to Aug 31, 2029.
