SYMBROSIAS SEAGRAZE PROJECT AIMS TO SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCE LIVESTOCK METHANE EMISSIONS THROUGH THE PRODUCTION OF A NATURAL SEAWEED FEED ADDITIVE CULTIVATED IN KONA HAWAII. THIS INITIATIVE WILL SUBSTANTIALLY EXPAND POSTHARVEST PROCESSING CAPACITY BY OVER 1600 RESULTING IN A DRAMATICALLY INCREASED MARKET AVAILABILITY OF DOMESTICALLY PRODUCED ORGANIC FEED SUPPLEMENTS. THE CORE OF THIS PROJECT INVOLVES THE CONSTRUCTION AND IMPLEMENTATION OF AN EXPANDED PROCESSING FACILITY DESIGNED TO HANDLE LARGE VOLUMES OF THE SEAWEED TRANSFORMING IT INTO PELLETS SUITABLE FOR USE IN LIVESTOCK FEED. ANTICIPATED OUTCOMES INCLUDE A SUBSTANTIAL REDUCTION IN GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS FROM CATTLE OPERATIONS OFFERING RANCHERS THE POTENTIAL TO CAPTURE CARBON CREDITS AND POSITIVELY IMPACTING THE OVERALL INDUSTRY. THE PRIMARY BENEFICIARIES OF THIS PROJECT WILL BE FARMERS AND RANCHERS ACROSS THE UNITED STATES WHO SEEK TO IMPROVE THE SUSTAINABILITY OF THEIR OPERATIONS AND ACCESS A VALUED ORGANIC FEED SUPPLEMENT. FURTHERMORE SEAGRAZE WILL CONTRIBUTE TO A BROADENED MARKET FOR ORGANIC AGRICULTURAL COMMODITIES BENEFITING PROCESSORS AND OTHER STAKEHOLDERS INVOLVED IN THE PRODUCTION AND DISTRIBUTION CHAIN. BY INCREASING THE SUPPLY OF DOMESTICALLY PRODUCED ORGANIC FEED SYMBROSIA INTENDS TO ELEVATE THE UNITED STATES POSITION AS A LEADER IN INNOVATIVE LIVESTOCK PRACTICES FOSTERING A MORE SUSTAINABLE AND RESPONSIBLE AGRICULTURAL SECTOR.
