This $650,000 Project Grant award from the National Science Foundation (NSF) under the NSF Technology, Innovation, and Partnerships (CFDA 47.084) program will accelerate development of a national-scale wetlands decision support toolkit for the United States. The project will integrate advances in wetland science, computing, remote sensing, and geospatial tools to create an equitable, user-friendly platform that provides accurate wetland mapping, characterization of ecosystem services, and integrated information to support environmentally just decision-making around water management, conservation, and policy. In Phase 1, the project will gather user input, identify available data and resources, build a prototype, and develop plans for equitable delivery and sustainability. In Phase 2, the team will implement the final toolkit for nationwide use, equipping diverse stakeholders with continuous geospatial datasets, analytical layers, and reporting capabilities. This award reflects NSF's mission to advance science and engineering research leading to solutions for national and societal challenges.
