The Confederated Salish & Kootenai Tribes received a $1,324,856 block grant award from the Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families under the Family Violence Prevention and Services/Domestic Violence Shelter and Supportive Services program (CFDA 93.671). The purpose of the award is to support the Tribes' efforts to increase awareness of and provide primary and secondary prevention services related to family violence from October 1, 2021 through September 30, 2025. Specifically, the funding will assist the Tribes in operating domestic violence shelters and delivering supportive services to victims of family violence in Montana. The federal grant program aims to help States and Native American Tribes address family violence through public education, shelter and support services for victims.
