This $337,702 project grant from the National Science Foundation's Mathematical and Physical Sciences program supports the Research Experience for Undergraduates site at Stony Brook University from April 2023 through March 2026. Each year, 10 undergraduate students will engage in hands-on research in physics and astronomy topics through mentored projects available at Stony Brook University and Brookhaven National Laboratory. Students will gain instruction in research techniques, presentations, computational and experimental skills while working alongside faculty on novel research. The program aims to broaden undergraduate participation in physics and astronomy through research experiences, technical communications training, and graduate school and career guidance. It will culminate in a summer research symposium poster presentation conducted in collaboration with other Stony Brook summer research programs. The Research Foundation for the State University of New York will administer the award on behalf of Stony Brook University.
