New York University received a $174,844 Project Grant award from the National Science Foundation Office of Advanced Cyberinfrastructure on October 1, 2022 to develop educational modules and a digital content hub focused on data systems. The three-year award, made under the Computer and Information Science and Engineering program (CFDA 47.070), will support the creation of "scaffolded, educational modules or courselets" that provide hands-on learning experiences for students in rapidly developing fields relating to data acquisition, storage, analytics, and visualization. The modules will be executable on open cloud testbeds and integrated into a content hub so students can deploy them with one click for exploration-based learning. The project aims to establish best practices for developing, teaching, and improving such courselets and build an engaged community of educators and students.
