This $115,335 National Science Foundation project grant supports the development of the Distributed Open Education Network (DOENET) platform by Cornell University. DOENET aims to empower faculty to design and test online learning experiments for open educational mathematics content. It will provide tools for authoring interactive content, conducting educational research using that content, and discovering effective content based on research results. The platform reduces barriers to developing and accessing online learning experiments. Faculty and researchers from multiple institutions will use DOENET to create open interactive educational materials and conduct small-scale learning experiments, including on guiding student engagement with content. This work falls under the NSF's STEM Education program (CFDA 47.076), which supports improving STEM education effectiveness for all students through the development of promising practices and tools. The six-month project period runs from January 15, 2023 to June 30, 2023.
