This National Science Foundation project grant of $160,253 supports research on "Parenting, Housework, Well-Being, and the COVID-19 Pandemic" being conducted by Ball State University from April 1, 2022 through March 31, 2025. The research will assess changes in parents' divisions of domestic labor, factors driving these changes, effects on mothers' labor force participation, and impacts on parents' well-being and relationship quality using longitudinal survey data from approximately 6,500 partnered U.S. parents. Parents have been surveyed since April 2020 about their work and household activities before and after the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, with follow-up waves through September 2025. Insights from this study under the NSF's Social, Behavioral, and Economic Sciences program will help policymakers better support working families during and after the pandemic.
