The Northwest Indian College Foundation received a $299,749 National Science Foundation project grant under the federal STEM Education program (CFDA 47.076) to conduct research from October 1, 2021 to September 30, 2023. The grant will support the Foundation's "EAGER: REDUCING THE DIGITAL DIVIDE: RESEARCHING THE IMPACTS AND OPPORTUNITIES OF RAPID TRANSITION TO ONLINE AND DISTANCE LEARNING FOR STEM PROGRAMMING IN A TRIBAL COLLEGE SETTING" project. Through this effort, the Foundation will analyze how the COVID-19 pandemic's acceleration of online and distance learning models has impacted access to science, technology, engineering and mathematics programming for students at tribal colleges. It will also explore new opportunities to strengthen STEM education delivery through technology. Insights from this research could help address equity and participation in the national STEM enterprise among underserved populations.
