Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute will develop multilayered inorganic nanocomposites for novel applications under a $627,998 National Science Foundation project grant awarded September 1, 2021. The Division of Civil, Mechanical, and Manufacturing Innovation is supporting the three-year "BRITE RELAUNCH: Manufacturing Multilayers of Molecularly-Bonded Inorganic Nanointerfaces for Accessing and Tuning Novel Properties" project through the Engineering (47.041) program. The Engineering program seeks to improve quality of life and economic strength by fostering innovation in engineering research and education. Specifically, this project will advance manufacturing methods to create tailored nanocomposites with controlled interfaces between inorganic layers, enabling access to new material properties.
