The Vermont Housing Finance Agency (VHFA) received an $8 million Project Grant award from the Department of the Treasury's Community Development Financial Institutions Fund under the Capital Magnet Fund program (CFDA 21.011).
The grant will support VHFA in attracting private investment to finance affordable housing and related economic development activities that benefit low-income individuals and families in Vermont. Through competitive subgrants, VHFA will use the Capital Magnet Funds to increase acquisition, development, rehabilitation and preservation of affordable rental and homeownership housing. This in turn will help create and preserve housing opportunities for low-income residents consistent with the goals of the Capital Magnet Fund to leverage private capital for community and economic development in underserved areas.
