New York University was awarded a three-year, $450,000 Project Grant from the National Science Foundation's Mathematical and Physical Sciences program (CFDA 47.049) to develop molecular probes for vibrational imaging of cellular targets: ions and reactive species. The grant aims to advance progress in the mathematical and physical sciences by increasing understanding of major problems confronting the nation. Specifically, NYU will use the funding to create new molecular probes for visualizing ions and reactive species inside cells using vibrational imaging techniques. This work will enhance scientific knowledge about cellular processes at the molecular level.
