Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi will receive $199,966 under a three-year National Science Foundation Project Grant in the Engineering program (CFDA 47.041) to conduct the research project "WHERE THE RUNOFF BEGINS: RETHINKING THE ROLE OF IMPERVIOUS AREA IN URBAN STORMWATER MANAGEMENT" from May 2021 through April 2024. The university, through its Division of Research & Innovation, will explore alternative approaches to impervious area management in urban stormwater systems to improve water quality and mitigate flooding risks. The NSF Engineering program supports innovation and excellence in engineering research, in line with the goals of this grant to re-examine conventional methods and foster new ideas in stormwater management.
