The National Science Foundation awarded a $1.5 million Project Grant to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology under the STEM Education program (CFDA 47.076) for the period of March 1, 2021 through June 30, 2023.
The grant funds the "EVERYDAY AI FOR YOUTH: INVESTIGATING MIDDLE SCHOOL TEACHER EDUCATION, CLASSROOM IMPLEMENTATION, AND THE ASSOCIATED STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES OF AN INNOVATIVE AI CURRICULUM" project being conducted by MIT in Cambridge, MA. The project aims to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of a new artificial intelligence curriculum for middle school classrooms. MIT will research methods for educating teachers on the AI curriculum and analyze resulting student learning outcomes. Findings will provide insight on integrating emerging technologies like AI into STEM education.
