The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration awarded $564,719 under the Supportive Services for Veteran Families Program (CFDA 64.033) on August 19, 2022 to Project Community Connections Inc.
The award will support the provision of supportive services to very low-income Veteran families. Required services include outreach, case management, and assistance obtaining VA and other public benefits. The organization may also provide temporary financial assistance paid directly to third parties for childcare, emergency housing, transportation, rental/utility payments, security deposits, moving costs, and general housing stability assistance in accordance with 38 CFR Part 62. Optional services may include legal assistance and financial management services. The goal is to coordinate or directly provide these supportive resources to Veteran families residing in or transitioning to permanent housing.
