This $431,748 Project Grant from the Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Under Secretary for Health will support the Community Rebuilders' provision of supportive services under the VA Supportive Services for Veteran Families Program (SSVF Program; CFDA 64.033). The SSVF Program aims to assist very low-income Veteran families who are either currently homeless, at risk of becoming homeless, or in need of other housing assistance after exiting homelessness.
Through this award, Community Rebuilders will provide outreach, case management, assistance obtaining VA and other public benefits, and temporary financial assistance directly to third parties for needs like childcare, housing, transportation, utilities, and moving costs. Optional services may also include legal assistance and financial management support. The funding will aid Community Rebuilders in coordinating or delivering these supportive services that seek to help very low-income Veteran families obtain and sustain permanent housing.
